WEBSITE TO VOICE DEMO

How to make an AI receptionist demo from your website

Paste a public business website into the free demo builder, let it read the available content, then talk to the receptionist in your browser. It is a quick way to hear how your business information sounds in a conversation before planning a phone-system setup.

Five steps from website to test conversation

  1. STEP 1

    Choose a public business website

Start with your homepage. Check that your services, contact information and opening hours are current. A login-only portal, blocked page or image-only menu may not provide enough readable information.

  2. STEP 2

    Build the browser demo

Open the free demo tool, paste the website address and select the build button. The tool reads available website content and prepares a voice conversation around it. You do not need to connect your phone line or enter payment details.

  3. STEP 3

    Start talking

When the demo is ready, start the conversation and allow microphone access in your browser. Ask a question a real caller would ask. Use headphones if your speakers cause an echo, and end the call when you finish.

  4. STEP 4

    Check answers against your business

Try services, location, hours and a question the website does not answer. Correct a detail during the conversation. Listen for useful clarification rather than a confident guess. The on-screen transcript can help you review what was said.

  5. STEP 5

Separate the demo from the launch

Write down the information and workflows you want to add. A production receptionist needs approved business rules, tested message delivery, a phone-routing plan and any calendar or CRM connections. Test those connected actions before sending real callers to it.

What a website demo can show you

Test in the demoVerify separately for launch
How it explains services from readable public contentYour complete, approved knowledge base and current policies
Voice, turn-taking and handling correctionsPhone audio, routing, transfers and no-answer behavior
How it asks for and repeats caller detailsCorrect delivery to the intended staff inbox or CRM
How it handles an appointment requestActual calendar availability and a confirmed booking record

A first test conversation you can use

“Hi, I am looking for [one of your services]. Do you cover [a real town in your service area]? What would you need from me to get started?”

Then ask something the site cannot answer, such as availability for a specific appointment. A useful response explains what needs checking. It should not manufacture an opening or claim an appointment has been booked.

Common questions

Does it read every page on my website?

Do not assume complete coverage. The demo uses the content it can retrieve, with a limited amount passed into the conversation. Blocked pages, private content and information buried in images may be missing. Test the facts that matter to your business.

Does the demo answer my real business phone?

No. The free tool starts a browser conversation. Connecting a live phone number, routing calls and setting up transfers are separate implementation steps.

Can it book appointments or send messages?

A browser conversation can demonstrate an intake flow. Do not treat a spoken confirmation as a completed action in your systems. Booking and message delivery need configured integrations and a test at the receiving destination.

What if the site cannot be read?

Check that the address opens publicly without a login. Try the main homepage and confirm its text is readable. If the site blocks automated access or has little public text, a manually prepared demo may be more useful. Talk through your setup with us.

What should I use for test caller details?

Use fictional names and a test callback number you control. Keep private customer records, payment information and sensitive personal details out of demo calls. See our privacy policy for how Everyday Software handles data.

Give it the questions your callers ask

Start with your website, then use the checklist to record what works and what needs more information. That gives you a concrete starting point for a receptionist built around your business.
